A major airline needed to rapidly replace thousands of tablets used by flight attendants and pilots for in-flight operations. These devices are mission critical for everything from safety briefings and service orders to pilot navigation and documentation.

Each device needed a unique configuration based on the user’s role and aircraft type, and 100% uptime was absolutely critical. If a device fails, then the flight doesn’t move.

PiiComm managed the full device deployment cycle, which included staging, configuring, testing, and shipping of thousands of tablets, each with a custom image per user role and aircraft assignment. All work was handled entirely in-house by PiiComm’s certified technicians with no third-party outsourcing.

When timelines accelerated mid-project, PiiComm mobilized cross-functional teams working nights and weekends to meet the new deadline.

The team also managed reverse logistics, refurbishing old devices that the client owned for redeployment to another airline division.
