It’s a new year! 🎉

Now that the holiday festivities are behind us, it’s time to start knuckling down on those New Year’s resolutions.

If you’re like most people, you’ve likely got a resolution list that includes being healthier, spending more time with family, learning a new skill, or striking a better work-life balance in the new year.

But if you’re reading this post, then that means something else is top of mind: Mobile Device Management (MDM).

While MDM isn’t likely to make headlines as the trendy new resolution (unless, that is, your company had a security breach over the holidays—Yikes!), anyone with their nose in this type of work will understand why it should take priority this year (and beyond).

What Does That Mean?

  • We’ve got the right devices in the field. No more outdated tech slowing us down or falling apart.
  • We can stage and deploy devices efficiently. New devices go out ready to work—no delays, no drama.
  • We can manage the full mobile lifecycle without losing our minds. Repairs, replacements, and tracking? Done without IT meltdowns.
  • We securely retire old devices the right way. That means protecting our data and the planet.

My To-Dos:

  • Find the perfect mobile devices: Start the year strong by evaluating our mobile tech. Commit to sourcing devices that match our team’s needs, budget, and durability goals. It’s time to upgrade smartly, not blindly.
  • Stop procrastinating on device deployment: Devices sitting in boxes are as useful as that gym membership I never use. Get those phones, tablets, or wearables staged, configured, and deployed stat. Our new tech should hit the ground running, not collect dust.
  • Manage the day-two device blues: Cracked screens, dead batteries, and lost devices happen. Let’s make this the year that we actually keep tabs on our fleet’s health, repairs, and replacements without overloading our IT team. No device left behind!
  • Lock down our data: New year, new threats. We need to tighten our mobile device security with better policies, monitoring, and updates.
  • Say goodbye (safely) to our old devices: Ensure secure wiping, recycling, and reallocation of outdated tech to stay compliant and eco-friendly.
  • Simplify all of that with some outside help: Managing all of this solo? Hard pass. Not this year. We need a Managed Mobility Services (MMS) partner who can handle sourcing, deployment, repairs, and device retirement.
